HR Administrative Assistant
Job Description
The Oregonian, the leading media organization in the greater Portland area, is searching for a creative, high-energy HR Administrative Assistant to provide administrative support of a complex and responsible nature to the Vice President and HR staff; Interface with internal and external contacts, requiring considerable discretion and initiative; Maintain VP’s calendar including setting up meetings, appointments; Assist employees with basic benefits questions and miscellaneous needs while maintaining a confidential and professional manner; and keep human resources compliance deadlines on track.
Desired Skills & Experience
Qualified applicants will have the ability to work independently utilizing initiative and minimal direction; the ability work collaboratively and voice opinions in a constructive fashion; organization and attention to detail; composure in dealing with difficult and time-sensitive situations; a highly developed sense of discretion and judgment in dealing with confidential matters; the flexibility to deal with rapidly changing priorities; strong written and oral communication skills; intermediate knowledge and skill in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; the ability to run reports in HRIS, preferably Peoplesoft; and a clean Oregon or Washington driver’s license for driving between work sites.
